Healthcare

Urban professionals, with their sedentary habits, work pressures, stress and relationship issues now have the option of undergoing health check-ups before they are stricken down with a disease. Institutes like Max Healthcare, Escorts, Apollo, and Wockhardt operate clinics in several cities that provide preventive healthcare programs. Initially catering to those in the corporate sector, where health checks are part of the corporate pay packages, these programs are increasingly drawing others from the urban middle-class.

The packages are quite cheap, ranging between 700-5000 rupees, and very convenient for increasingly health-conscious Indians. And the clinics work on a sound economic basis since the persons who are detected with problems will invariably turn to the same clinic for treatment.

As an example Max Healthcare has the following categories of programs:
Max Tariff

Baseline Package ( 20- 30 yrs ) Rs 2450
MidLife Package ( 30-50 yrs ) Rs 3250

Max Preventive Health Programme for Women
Baseline Package ( 20 - 40 yrs ) Rs 2750
