Aurobindo Pharma Pfizer deal


Pfizer Inc has agreed to license an array of generic pills and injectable medicines from Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. "Aurobindo will manufacture the products and we will be responsible for the marketing," said Pfizer senior vice-president Kevin Cooper. Pfizer’s deal with Aurobindo is its first in-licensing deal where the US-based pharma giant takes on license, products from Aurobindo.

Pfizer declined to name the medicines, saying they covered a broad range of therapy areas including cardiovascular disease and central nervous system disorders. The medicines will be sold initially in the US and European markets. Pfizer estimates that the deal with Aurobindo will boost its revenue by $200 million till 2014.
